Cape Town Day 4,5,6
I woke up at 6 am facing a big grin of Mister Nockel who explained us the situation: wind and perfect light. So we headed to Big Bay and had a photo session. I totally felt like a beginner, the wind was super gusty and I was always under or overpowered on my 9m, but still we got some nice shots. At the end of the day I had to pay my tribute for the long out-time I had this winter with some pain in all my body parts…
Today we woke up at 10 am, then we drove to another cafeteria named “Dulce” and had some breakfast there. Once back at the apartment we saw a whale from the balcony. The wind was really light in the morning, but Henning got a call from Peterson saying that he and Felix Pivec were at Scarborough where the wind seemed to be picking up. The others drove to that spot to take some pictures, I staid at the apartment. The wind also picked up here at Table View so I went out with my 9m at Dolphin Beach and had a much better session there than yesterday at Big Bay. The waves were super big and there was flat water in between the sets. The wind was super constant and with my 3/2 mm Psycho II the water temperature was more than acceptable.
Muesli for breakfast and no wind at all. That changed in the afternoon, so Henning and I drove to a new spot 10km from the apartment where it was shallow enough to make some images from the water. The wind was bit light for 9m but still enough and super constant. We made some good shots of grabbed Slims and flat 3s and I trained a bit.
