PKRA Germany Single Eliminations

August 23rd, 2007

I arrived in St. Peter Ording on Friday and it wasn’t windy until Tuesday. Tuesday we had the skippers-metting at 8.30am , super early! First they did the trials which took less then 1 hour, then we started the Single Eliminations. The wind was light in the morning but increased throughout the day. I pumped up all my kites but chose my 8m Impact SL, cause thats what I’m most used to and cause it was gusty and windy. In the first heat I was against Rocky Chatwell from USA who’s currently under the Top12. He was on his 7 Fuel and throwing some big kiteloops, I did good stuff with some power and advanced. Then I went against Michael Schitzhofer from Austria and we both had a regular heat, he did more but according to the judges I had more power in my tricks so I advanced to the third round where Mr. 3x and soon 4x Worldchampion stopped my run.So I’m super satisfied with the result and I really hope to get some wind for the doubles!

Sylt

August 17th, 2007

Today we’ll have the inscriptions for the PKRA in St. Peter Ording so I’ll leave Sylt with Pile and Kim in a couple of hours. Out of the ten days here I had 6 ridable days, which is a very good balance. We had big waves, kickers, flat water, sliders, gusty winds, constant winds, a mix of everything and lots of 80’s Music!See ya all in St. Peter Ording!

Change of plans!

The day I arrived here on the beautiful and cold island of Sylt I had a great session with Pile, Kim and Johannes, but I cracked my only board. Just back from the beach we had to find out that Red Bull’s car for us was totally broken. So we tried to find another solution but taking the forecasts to count we decided to stay in Sylt instead of heading towards Denmark.

Yesterday I had my first session on bots ever and it was totally insane. With a Stance of 52cm Kiteboarding looks and feels way different, but after a couple of minutes I was able to stick some Flat 3’s and complete KGB’s which just felt unreal.
