Kiteboarding Nonstop

August 26th, 2011

The past 2 weeks here in Spain have been too good to be true for kiting. Together with Alvaro Onieva who is absolutely killing it on the water I kited pretty much every day which in August would normally never be possible here, but by following the wind between Malaga, Marbella and Tarifa we made it possible and scored some seriously great sessions with again above-the-norm conditions. All that in board shorts.

This all culminated in a perfect session at a secret spot in Malaga with the glassiest water I ever set board on and perfectly consistant wind for 11m yesterday. We took turns at filming/riding and were the only kiteboarders on the water. Even the fisherman and swimming tourists were attentive enough to make some space for us to go into the tricks with speed and power. Definitely the best riding I ever scored back home!

Summer Hole

September 6th, 2009

silvester ruckdaeschel toesideThis summer has been very quiet around Malaga and Marbella in terms of wind, so we had no choice but to go to the cable. That thing has no obstacles and most people are on knee boards, so it’s nothing like OWC Orlando or similar parks, but still better than nothing. Good thing about not having obstacles is your forced to do aerials. Alvaro and I rode like 5 times this summer and coming from kiteboarding the progression is really fast, Alvaro is already going for Double Sbend to blinds and landed a Hasselhoff, I have it a bit more difficult being Regular so I’m going for Pete Roses and I landed a Regular footed Frontroll to Blind and Batwing to blind among other easier goofy stuff, like Blind Judges, Back2Blinds, etc.

Home-spot Video

A friend has created this little kite-video of our home spot. You wont find any hardcore riding in there, but it’s still fun to watch if you’re just into kiteboarding.
